    geoDefense Swarm

I’ve been playing geoDefense Swarm on the iPhone for about a week now. It’s “the thinking man’s tower defence game” apparently, and I’d go along with that.

Verdict? Highly recommended. It’s £1.19 from iTunes. I’m still amazed at the amount of entertainment to be had for (much) less than the price of a cup of coffee. Crotchety cynics be damned.

I’m a pretty lazy gamer. When suck or frustrated, I’ll either spit the dummy or refer to a FAQ. There’s walkthrough remorse afterwards but I have my reassurances1. Admittedly, I did look up solutions for a couple of geoDefense Swarm levels. I’ve never given anything back before though. That’s all about to change, as I couldn’t find anything out there for the two last levels…

    Spoiler Alert!

    Hard Level 8: Slightly Buggy

    My solution:

geoDefense Swarm hard level 8 solution

Hard Level 9: Revenge of the Eye

    My solution:

geoDefense Swarm hard level 9 solution

    1. One, not being a student I can no longer dedicate weeks to 100% completions (sad to say).

Two, people blame the demise of reading on many things, games being one. Games used to have delicious manuals to pour over, now replaced by cinematic opening sequences and tutorial levels. I’m bringing reading back!

Three, have you seen how much effort goes in to the myriad of walkthroughs online? It’s an almost noble pursuit documenting games so thoroughly. Throw these guys a bone people!
